With an enormous feeling of sorrow for the loss of a good man, we fulfill the painful duty of reporting the passing of Dr. Fernando Manuel de Castro Campilho, current President of the FPDA Executive Board (2021 to 2024), Doctor, specialist in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He was also President of the APPDA – North Installation Committee, President of the Council and currently President of the General Assembly Board. He was part of the Installation Committee of the Portuguese Autism Federation (2001 to 2003); he was Vice-President of the FPDA-Portuguese Autism Federation (2004 to 2020) and and member of the Council of administration of Autism-Europe since 2022.
As a father and citizen defender of the Rights of People with Autism and their families, he has always played an important role in the creation, operation and development of the FPDA-Portuguese Autism Federation. Despite his poor health in recent months, he remained dedicated to the cause of the Rights of People with Autism and their families. He participated in multiple Commissions and Working Groups and defended the full application of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
